Homemade Hummus

Makes 1  3/4 pounds

-2x 14-ounce cans chickpeas
-1 lemon
-Tahini paste
-2 garlic cloves
-extra virgin olive oil

Necessary Variations

-Jarred Red Bell Peppers
-2 Pre-cooked Beets


Blend the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, salt, and lemon zest and juice in a food processor until smooth. With the motor still running, gradually drizzle in the oil through the funnel until combined. You may need to stir in 2 to 3 tablespoons water to get it to the desired consistency.
Spoon into a serving bowl and sprinkle with the paprika. Serve with pita bread or crudites.
